AGI has extensive experience in isolating plant DNA of high molecular weight. We apply our knowledge extracting DNA from multiple plant species and sequencing it with long read technologies. On a fee-for-service basis, we extract DNA and RNA (from a few nanograms to 100's of micrograms), sequence the substrates with the PacBio platform, and provide Hi-C datasets with the Arima protocol. We do not provide short-read sequencing, however our partner facilities, the Arizona Genetics Core and the PANDA Core at the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center do. The best option to ship plant material is in dry ice. Alternatively, we can receive samples after lyophilization or desiccation in silica beads. Plant materials (or other biomass) coming from outside the USA will require an Import permit from USDA. Arrange to have the import permit first from AGI before shipping any permitted material. Nucleic acids should be shipped in dry ice (always for RNA) or in ice blocks, or at room temperature (for DNA). Inquire AGI (info@genome.arizona.edu) for shipping conditions for specific samples. Nucleic acids will not require importation permit.

Yes, provided the substrate is of sufficient purity and amount, we sequence any type of nucleic acid.
In some cases. For specific samples (e.g. RNA extraction from mouse organs, DNA extraction from complex substrates) we outsource parts of the project to our partner facilities, the Arizona Genetics Core and the PANDA Core at the University of Arizona Steele Children’s Research Center.
Turnaround time is highly dependent on the other projects in the queue and on the project and sample features. Most simple projects are delivered in 4 to 6 weeks.
Primarily, your data will be delivered via Globus. Secure FTP, Cyverse, Azure, Amazon, or other cloud services are also options. Data can be shipped via FedEx next-day or overnight, for a nominal fee, as well. You're welcome to suggest other methods, too. For details, please see Data Download and Delivery. Projects can be paid via credit card, wire, or bank transfer, upon receiving the invoice at project completion. Details for payment options are [LINK COMING]. For projects above $20,000, AGI requires a Purchase Order before starting to work on the project.
