AGI’s team expands data analysis capabilities
AGI’s team has a new member: Pawan Jayaswal joins AGI as a Bioinformatician.
We are happy to welcome Pawan Jayaswal at AGI! He will be in charge of data analysis and delivery.
Pawan is a Bioinformatician and obtained his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the Dept. of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Banasthali University, India. He investigated the role of young-intact LTR TEs in the speciation of the closely related legume plant species. He has a strong background in handling diverse long and short reads datasets, having contributed in the different plant genome (Pigeon pea, Jute and Mango) and transcriptome (Polianthus tuberosa and Nematode Interaction, developmental stage of Mangifera indica) sequencing projects. He also worked in SNP mining and genic-SNP chip array design. Evolutionary patterns like segmental duplication, collinearity of genes, and repetitive elements are the core area of his interest.
Pawan will work part of his time with the Wheeler Lab at UA’s Pharmacy Practice & Science Department.
Welcome Pawan!
